Review Shopify variant changes before a client handoff

A SKU is useful to a team, but Elyxu does not assume it is a sufficient identity for a Shopify import. It compares handles and option combinations exactly.

Why changed options get a manual check

Shopify warns that changing option values can replace variant IDs and affect third-party dependencies. An unmatched option combination therefore needs a deliberate review, even when the SKU looks familiar.

A useful handoff record

• Record which baseline export and proposed update were reviewed.
• List deliberate blank values and option changes.
• Identify ambiguous matches and omitted fields.
• Record who approved the update and how a small import was tested.
• Keep the original export and the review report together.

Removing a row from an update file is not the same as deleting a product. Image-only rows also require separate review; they are not ordinary variants.
